Bugatti, a well-known automotive company is one of the oldest automobile manufacturers. Despite what its name may suggest, Bugatti is a French, not Italian automaker; this is only one of many fascinating facts about this famous automaker that you will learn from our small review.

  1. Like many other famous automobile brands, Bugatti bears the name of its creator. The company’s founder Ettore Bugatti was born in a prominent artistic family in Milan, Italy. The company, named Automobiles Ettore Bugatti was founded by Ettore Bugatti in Molsheim, Alsace, German Empire (from 1919 – until now: Alsace, France), in 190 9. Ettore established new company’s headquarters in Bugatti family mansion, chateau Saint-Jeanne. After the end of World War I, when Alsace became a part of France, the company returned to car manufacturing.

The Bugatti Type 41, better known as Royale, was a 6.4 m long luxury car, powered by a straight-eight engine. The Bugatti Royale featured wheel spokes, made of piano wire and was too expensive even for European royalty; only six of planned 25 cars were ever produced.

While the revival of the famous French marque became a sensation of automobile world, the newly created company was not able to sell enough cars to turn profit. In 1995, Romano Artioli announced about the bankruptcy of Bugatti Automobili S.p.A.
