The Hyundai i40 was specially designed by the South Korean automotive giant Hyundai for their European market in Germany. It was first shown to the public during the 2011 Barcelona Motor Show, where it received wonderful reviews. The first i40 to be released was the i40 Tourer in September 2011. Then in January 2012, the Sedan variant was also released to the European public.
The i40 was especially designed for their European consumers in Germany according to the Europeans’ needs and preferences in style. The i40 has a sporty and powerful style to it. This car is equipped with Xenon headlights that will brighten up even the darkest roads for you. In addition to the HID lamps, it has an automatic light control which switches the headlights on when it gets dark and off as it gets lighter. The rear is equipped with an LED combination lamp and a high mounted LED stop lamp. The hexagonal grill on the i40 emanates a strong, elegant, and sophisticated aura that makes it pleasing to the eye. It also has a rear spoiler, which complements the sporty look that that matches the front grille. The i40 has a panoramic sunroof, which will open up wide to give you as much sunlight as possible during longer travels. Customers are also treated to a choice of 16 to 20-inch alloy wheels, which is perfect for a buyer with a specific look or goal in mind.
If the exterior design isn’t fascinating already, the interior design will surprise you even more. The beautifully-designed dashboard allows full control climate control, entertainment, and navigation. The i40's dashboard was not only designed for beauty, but also for ease of access. Driving has never been as comfortable as with the i40's driver's seat. It can be moved in 10 different directions, thus giving the driver unlimited power over the position the seat will be in. The seats come in many colors, which is bound fit to anyone’s preferences.
The U II 1.7 diesel engine on the i40 is not only powerful, but also clean, hitting a CO2 rating of just 113 g/km. The 6-speed manual transmission on the Gamma 1.6 GDI engine will get the most out of petrol fuel. The more powerful Nu 2.0 GDI engine offers the best in fuel economy similar caliber engines.
The i40 comes in both manual and automatic 6-speed transmissions, which provide smooth and fuel-efficient journeys.
Say goodbye to dual-airbag protection because with the i40, you get 9 airbags. In the event of a collision, 9 airbags will protect the driver and any passengers from harm. For more protection, the i40 is built with ultra-high tensile strength steel, which won an award in the prestigious EuroCarBody Awards back in 2011 for its construction and design; so you can be sure that the i40 is a safe car.
Apart from the body and the airbags, the i40 also comes with other features, such as the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Adaptive Front Lighting System, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), and the Hillstart Assist Control (HAC).
To keep passengers preoccupied during long hours of travel, the i40 has almost everything you'll need to keep children entertained. The audio package comes with a six-speaker setup that includes a USB/Aux port and a CD/MP3 player where you could play your own tunes. An AM/FM radio is also included if you don’t care what you listen to, as long as it sounds good.
The i40 also sports full electronic and computer-controlled features like a steering wheel remote control, cruise control, start button, electro-chromic mirror, and even the parking brake.
