The Fiat Multipla was designed to be a family car and is based on the Brava with a purposefully shorter and wider design than that of its competitors. This vehicle has two rows of three seats, which was another purposeful design point to differentiate it from all of the other similar cars that only had two seats in the front. The Multipla was designed to be shorter than even the Fiat Bravo, which only has a total of three doors on it. This vehicle’s design is extremely unique and even won “Top Gear Car of the year” in 1999 and was voted “Family Car of the year” 4 years in a row by Top Gear Magazine.
There were numerous engines that the Multipla came with, including a 103 PS 1.6 liter petrol as well as a 1.9 liter turbodiesel engine. At the time of its release, there was also a “Bi-Power” version of the Multipla which ran on both petrol and CNG or methane, though it was only offered in specific markets. The Multipla SX was the basic model and it was available with petrol and diesel engines. There was also the Multipla ELX, which had a number of bonus features, including air conditioning, allow wheels, electric rear windows, and twin electric sunroofs.
When it comes to the interior of the car, it has a very flexible design with a three-abreast seating setup which allows for the front seats to be adjusted the rear sets to be removed and relocated. This car can hold as much as 430 liters of luggage space which can be extended to 1,900 liters of flat floor load space when the rear seats are completely removed. The company Zotye Auto manufactured the Multipla 2 from KD kits back in 2008 through 2010 in a factory located in Changshan; it was marketed as the “Multiplan”. Zotye began building a new version of the Multipla 2 which had a variety of locally made parts which was done to reduce costs, and it was marketed as the “Langyue”.
The 1.6 liter 103bhp petrol engine revs very easily and is the cheaper option in terms of buying gas long term. The 115bhp turbodiesel engine some great pull and is a great option for those who want a little bit more power, though buying gas won’t always be cheap because of the fact that it gets a total of 10mpg. The basic SX or Dynamic Multipla model is a great choice for those who are looking for a nice family vehicle, and it includes air conditioning. The earlier ELX model comes with climate control as well as electric rear windows and allow wheels, which are all very attractive features to take into consideration before making a final decision as to whether or not you should buy it. Each individual model of this vehicle has its own engine and set of features which should be looked at carefully.
With a unique one of a kind body design as well as a variety of practical features as well as some extra luxuries, the Fiat Multipla is definitely a car that is not well-suited for everyone, but it does have its benefits and good points to be sure. While many people consider the overall style and design of this vehicle to be ugly, others like the way it looks overall. Over the years there have been a number of different models of this vehicle and although their features and designs have changed and evolved, it still manage to maintain the unique style which it is now known for in places all over the world.
