Bentley EXP 9 F – A Luxury SUV to Amaze
Bentley has long been known for their ability to produce luxury cars that blow peoples’ minds, such as their iconic Continental GT. They took it a step further when they unveiled their concept SUV, the EXP 9 F, which is the very first SUV that Bentley has talked about producing.
It may be based upon a Volkswagen platform, but the EXP 9 F is no VW in any other sense. With a presented W12 design featuring 6 liters of displacement, it’s nothing short of exotic. These features place it in a strong position to rival competitive models such as the Porsche Cayenne and the Range Rover.
When it comes to design, the Bentley EXP 9 F definitely hints at keeping the same lines as other models, such as the Continental. The front is iconic of a traditional Bentley car, and that same traditional design is carried throughout the rest of the car, from the wheels, to the tail lamps. It almost resembles an oversized Continental that somehow got stretched out vertically.
For anyone who wants the usual Bentley design, but with the full capabilities of an SUV, this is the car for you. From the sharp exterior, to the refined interior, this vehicle is nothing short of impressive. When you step inside, you’ll find a huge amount of wood garnishing every panel, polished to perfection in usual Bentley fashion.
Usual luxury touches typically found in cars like Bentleys and Rolls Royces can be found throughout. For example, open the rear hatch, and you’ll be greeted with a full factory picnic set – allowing you to setup a 5 star meal, no matter how remote your destination. This is an over engineered vehicle, with the highest quality leather in every direction, and the most up to date electronics across the cabin. No matter where you look, you’ll be greeted with the best and the finest of everything.
Despite Bentley’s talk of a W12, the specifics of the engine output remain vague. One thing they’ve made clear, however, is that this SUV will be able to accelerate like mad, outperforming most other SUVs in its impressive class. If they stick with the W12 design, we can expect roughly 600 horsepower, allowing this SUV (despite its undeniably hefty weight) to accelerate to 60 in a mind blowing amount of time.
In addition to the commonly talked about W12 engine inclusion, there has also been discussion about including a turbo V8 option, a diesel engine (possibly a V12 TDI), and even rumors of a hybrid electric (possibly plug-in) model.
The truth is, until Bentley makes an official announcement, we can’t know for sure exactly what they will decide to include in the various trim levels of the EXP 9 F. But one thing we do know is it will be amazing. After all, they have already named it the most powerful SUV in its class, which means it’s going to outshine the engine power output of both the Range Rover and Cayenne.
Overall, we can safely assume that Bentley is bringing the refinement and performance of the Continental to an oversized scale, producing one of the most impressive SUVs that has ever hit the tarmac. We won’t know for certain how it will perform in off road situations, but if they take cues from other manufacturers in this class, we can probably expect electronically controlled differentials to put all of that power to the ground in various situations.
With over two thousand pre-orders for this model, we know it will impress. The only way to find out what’s to come is to get one for yourself!
