The Volvo S60 was first produced in 2011, and the refreshed model was released in 2014. It took five years for the manufacturer to create another version, and the 2019 is expected to become another major improvement. It is going to become a tough rival for the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Audi A4.
The new headlights look much better, thanks to a thinner and sharper shape and the T-shaped LED daytime running lights. The grille with a chrome surround is now larger, and front bumper is sleeker. The hood in the new model is longer than in the previous one, while the front overhang is shorter. The trunk comes with a longer rear overhang. All this contributes to a sportier appearance. The design features more precise lines so that the look of the new S60 is sharper.
Lots of elements of the S60’s rear were borrowed from the S90, particularly, the C-shaped taillights. The bumper valance panels look thinner, and the exhaust outlets come in a more rectangular shape.
Volvo really did a great work by transforming the S60’s interior to one of the most interesting in its segment. It comes with a crisp 8-in. digital cluster (12.3-in. unit is optional).
The infotainment screen comes with a 9-in. touchscreen with pinch-to-zoom and swipe features. The new vents are stylish but simple. The interior materials are great, and, generally, the new Volvo S60 is a huge step forward.
