For those that are looking for a unique, high performing sports car, the Maybach Exelero is one of the better choices. This sports car has a 700 horsepower twin turbo engine. The V12 engine is a one off design that was built for Fulda Tires upon request. Fulda used this car as a reference point in order to test a newer generation of wide tires.
The model of the Maybach Exelero was created by the German luxury car company as a more modern interpretation from the streamlined sports car that it manufactured during the 1930s. When it comes to the predecessor of the vehicle there are a number of different beliefs of how the idea for this vehicle came about. It is most commonly felt that the Exelero was based on one of the more powerful Maybach automobiles from that time frame, likely the SW 38. The Maybach SW38 was used for tire testing by Fulda as well.
The Maybach Exelero is a prime example of the Maybach individualization of the company for offering specific customized solutions for their customers when they are requested. In some of the first tests completed on the vehicle that were conducted at the high speed track that is located in Nardo, Italy, the unique sports car would reach a top speed of over 350 miles per hour.
The custom model was created by the developers at Maybach along with participating Pforzheim College students. The Maybach Exelero was created by prototype specialists located at Stola, which is in Turin Italy. Currently there are not any plans by Maybach to produce this particular model of vehicle in a series.
The high performance vehicle was first unveiled to the world at the Tempodrom in Berlin. Fulda Reifenwerke requested the vehicle which he is using as a reference for a new generation of wide tires that are being developed. The design was developed from a vehicle that the company manufactured during the 1930s that was also used by Fulda for tire testing.
While the car was created as a through back to one of the earlier cars that the company manufactured, it is famous for being portrayed during an episode of Cobra 11, which is a long running German television show. The vehicle was also featured in the music video “Lost One” by Jay-Z.
Birdman, who is a rapper and a bling enthusiast, was reported to buy the one of a kind Maybach Exelero. It is reported that he paid $8 million for the vehicle. Bryan Williams, which is Birdman’s real name, tweeted that”they got this new Maybach that I want that costs $8 million and I have to have it.” This tweet was followed by a picture of the vehicle sitting outside of his garage just a couple of days later.
While Birdman may have thought that this vehicle was new, it really was not. The vehicle that he was talking about and purchased was the Maybach Exelero that was first unveiled at the Tempodrom in Berlin in the year 2005. Maybach had been trying to sell this particular vehicle since they first showed it at that time.
Birdman is the co-owner of the company called Cash Money Records is estimated to be worth well over $100 million. He currently owns a Bugatti Veyron as well as a Maybach Landaulet. These two cars will be keeping what he thinks is his new Exelero, which is actually an old car, company. For $8 million, he can call it whatever he wants.
