Automobili Lamborghini is a luxury and exclusive automaker founded in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini in order to compete with Ferrari, another luxury sports car brand. The company is now owned by Volkswagen through its subsidiary Audi. Besides sports cars, Lamborghini is also known for building V12 engines for powerboat racing. The Lamborghini Reventon was built in 2008, with only twenty-one cars were produced under this signature brand, with one going to the company’s own museum.
The Reventon was the most expensive car ever built until the company built the Veneno in 2013: it has a recorded top speed of 221 MPH. There were rumors that there would actually be one hundred cars built, but each of the twenty-one cars is stamped with its number behind the driver’s seat. The car is named for a fighting bull that is famous for killing a well-known bullfighter in 1943.
In 2009 Lamborghini announced the production of the Reventon Roadster with a top speed of 205 MPH. Fifteen cars was going to be built, but the car never saw production beyond a prototype. Of the twenty Reventons that were built, ten of them were sold in the United States. The car has appeared in the video racing games Forza Motorsport 3, Shift 2: Unleashed, and Gran Turismo 6, among others.
The Lamborghini Reventon had a cost of $1,600,000.00 US dollars when it was produced in 2008. It was the most expensive car ever until 2013 when the company produced the Veneno for 2 million dollars.
The Reventon was built with 6.5L 400 cu in V12 engine.
The car comes with either a 6-speed e-gear semi-automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission.
Size and Space Options
The Reventon is a two passenger sports car that provides plenty of leg and head room.
Control Panel and Display
The car’s instrument panel is a solid block of aluminum surrounded by a protective carbon fiber casing and used TFT liquid crystal displays that work in two different modes. Aside from the speedometer and tachometer, the instrument panel also includes a display of the direction and magnitude of g-forces on the car, as well as a compass and a low fuel level warning.
The Reventon provides a comfortable and luxurious ride with wide leather seats.
Lamborghini built only twenty-one cars, with one in the company’s museum so the odds of one becoming available are highly unlikely.
Lamborghinis are equipped with a security system that can detect unwanted vehicle intrusion, as well as an ignition disabling device that prevents the car from starting with anything other than the correct key.
Safety features on the Reventon include daytime running lights, traction control, 4-wheel ABS, seatbelt pretensioners, and electronic brakeforce distribution.
The interior of the car includes leather seats, climate control, and an overhead console with storage, front reading lights, Kenwood audio system, voice-activated navigation system, power mirrors, and power steering.
The car comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, xenon high intensity discharge lamps, and speed sensitive windshield wipers. The Reventon is built with a carbon fiber exterior and comes only in one color—grey.
Available accessories include seat covers, floor mats, and car covers.
Lamborghini is known for high-performance cars, and the Reventon is no exception.
Like all Lamborghini automobiles, the Reventon speaks to luxury, speed, and wealth.
If you are one of the lucky twenty to own this car, then you must agree with us that the money spent was worth it.
The Lamborghini Reventon is an exceptional sports car with speed and a sleek look. The car is definitely a status symbol worth owning, if you could afford it.
